Learn the 11 essential steps to create an profitable blog

11 Ways to Make Your Blog Better Than Most!

Reinvesting in your business is the key to improving and expanding your business. Though there are many aspects that go into a site, I am going to list 11 different ways to make your blog better than most out there!

1. Perfect Domain
Domain name is what catches anyone’s attention, in fact, even before they visit the domain. That’s one reason why it is important to buy the right domain name. We all know first impression is the best impression and for virtual realm, it is the domain name that makes an impression first! It should be describe what the site is about and also, the brand identity. That’s what a good site is.

2. Blog Design
Creativity is an impertinent aspect of any design, though when you start out with blogging, you can choose any good premium theme. Once your blog generates money, you can then design your own look for the blog! Not good with designing? I am not either! Hire someone to do designing for you! It’s that simple.

3. Guest Writers
Blog attracts more repetitive traffic, when you post regularly. The posts should be done on a regular basis and should be of high quality. Only then, will your visitors return back for more! Don’t have time to post content to your blog regularly? Hire guest bloggers and set high standards, so they ensure the content is good. It is OK to pay well, for a well-written blog post! Is it not?

4. Product
Yes, you can earn promoting affiliate products or using other means. But, don’t you think they could be your competitors? After all, they are not your products and you don’t get 100% benefitted for all the efforts you take. You share it with the product owner. Right? Why not create your own product and sell it? When you post good free content and have regular visitors, when you launch you own paid product, they will definitely buy it. If not all, some will! You keep all the profits you generated, improve your brand image and reap the benefits of your efforts.

5. Mailing List
When you have a blog, you need to have an option for interested visitors to subscribe. This way, you can create a mailing list and update them when you post new topics. Popup Domination is the best way to get people sign up! You can use Aweber aka autoresponder to capture your visitor's emails.

6. Diversify Your Income
If you are going to stick with just one monetizing technique, you are reducing your income potential, with your own hands! Instead, try diversifying your income streams and make the most of your blog. There are companies that pay you for a banner, or advert, while some pay for a post, just check what’s best for your blog and visitors!

7. Hosting
Hosting for a website is what a backbone is for your body! While many don’t really give it that importance, anyone who’s injured their spine, will tell you how worse their life has become, if at all they survive, or remain conscious! Your site should be live at all times, have little if not nil downtime and that’s what makes you reliable. Ask your friends and acquaintances what hosting company they use. My personal favorite is Hostgator because:
  • They have 24/7 customer support – a must to ensure you can reach them, WHEN you have problems and not when they are available.
  • 99.99% Uptime
  • Reliable and renowned for their services for several years.

8. Post Quality
Always ensure your posts are of high quality. When someone visits your blog for the first time, they might want to check out your other posts. However, they will not have time to wade through or read all. Instead, “Best or Popular Posts” listed in a prominent corner can help them. You can either pick them on your own, or automate it using a plugin that rates posts based on hits.
9. Plugins
Undoubetdly Wordpress is one of the most widely used blogging platform and also, supports scores of plugins. Each plugin will have a unique purpose and most plugins can be very useful. The key is to pick the right ones.
10. SEO
I can’t stress this enough. In the virtual realm, traffic is the key and that’s what determines your popularity and weightage online. Without traffic, any blog is useless! Ensure your blog is optimized for search engines.

11. Content
Like we all know, CONTENT IS THE KING! Ensure the content posted on your blog is useful, high quality, free from errors and useful. After all, it is for these advantages that people visit your site – the value offered. Never compromise on that, for increasing your post count. Good traffic is important and you can get that, only by constant and consistent efforts to get traffic, organically. For that, you need to post good content. With traffic, comes popularity and then, you can monetize – don’t think about it, before you start anything. Traffic, determines your earning potential. Once you get that, money will start rolling in.

How to Create a Profitable Blog?

Nowadays, many venture into blogging. If you are an amateur, the first thing you need to know, is the difference between a dynamic and static website. Websites are programmed using Java, HTML or other programming languages and their content remains the same. Thus they are called static websites. On the other hand, blog gives the users flexibility and does not call for technical expertise. Blogs can be about a certain topic, though some prefer to blog about multiple topics. The key difference is that, blogs allow users to choose template and the content is regularly updated. Hence, blogs are also called dynamic websites. Since the content is updated from time to time, search engines love blogs. Search Engines strive to give useful and unique content for readers, which is why blogs are listed better in search engines.

Most bloggers take to blogging for fun. For this reason, while some bloggers purely concentrate on a particular topic of their interest, some make it more of a personal diary and share multiple topics with their readers. For blogging success, many recommend picking a topic of one’s preference. If making money is your motive, then picking a topic people read is more prudent. Don’t you think so? Even if you love writing and sharing your thoughts with your reader base, don’t you think making money of the writing you do is wise? Of course, who will say to money? So, here’s how you make your blog a profitable one.

Choosing the Right Topic / Niche: The first and foremost stuff to do would be to choose a topic / niche. Like mentioned earlier, you have to choose a topic that people read. For this, you use Google Hot Trends and Wordtracker. Google Hot Trends will list searches by the hour, which will come in handy. Choose the topics that you are familiar with and related to, based on the popularity. Next, head to wordtracker and generate keywords. If wordtracker has 100+ searches, then the niche is popular and can be profitable. So, go ahead and generate keywords. Now, you have your target topic / niche to blog about.

Traffic Generation: Next comes traffic generation. While the topic you blog about should be popular, your blog should be popular and have readers. That’s when you can monetize it. So, you generate backlinks and popularize your blog. You can do this by participating in relevant blogs and forums. You can leave your link therein, where members can click and find your website. Be careful when you do this. You do not want spammers to ruin your site and likewise, you should respect others websites and contribute to it. This is why you go to related blogs and post your link, along with your comments. Read the rules of the forums or blogs you are using, to ensure you follow the rules and don’t get banned. The last thing you want to do is getting the label of a spammer – so ensure you play by abiding to the rules. When you post useful and relevant comments and posts, members are likely to see your message, follow the link and bookmark it, should you have an attractive site with useful content. As long as you choose a popular topic using Google Hot Trends, you can rest assured that readers will follow. All you need to do is, ensure your content is useful and unique.

Monetization: Last but not the least is monetizing the blog. There are many to do this, one such way is related advertisements. For this, you need to sign up with Adsense or Bidvertiser. When you have enough readers, you can also sell advertisement space. Like every other method, making money through blogging is possible! Patience and hard work is the key to blogging success and profits.

After all, blogging is your interest and making money for it, is more like an unexpected reward. I hope you enjoyed my article. I wish you all success with blogging.
